Make the most of September’s late summer sunshine by visiting the UK’s most beautiful locations. Let’s put Autumn on hold for a moment and enjoy warm days and golden sunsets for a little longer!
Here are our favourite late summer getaways:
North Devon
North Devon is where summer memories are made.
The much-loved village of Croyde offers a perfect mix of cool surf vibes, quaint cream teas and delicious freshly baked pasties. Its golden beach and gigantic waves have established Croyde as one of the UK’s surfing capitals. This stunning coastal location is also a wonderful playground for those who love walking, cycling and horse riding. Spend the day on the beach, followed by an evening in the pretty village centre. Enjoying an ice-cream with a generous helping of clotted cream on top, after a hearty pub meal, is a must!
A stone’s throw away, Saunton Sands Hotel has some of the best sea views in North Devon and offers high-end accommodation for a special mini break. The area also has a good selection of B&Bs, country inns and campsites.
The New Forest
A National Park since 2005, the New Forest is perfect for lovers of walking and cycling. The park hosts a stunning population of wild life, including the gentle New Forest ponies, who roam freely across the landscape.
There are also a number of lovely beaches and harbour towns close by. Lymington - a former smugglers paradise - is now home to many luxury yachts and fishing boats, offering a gateway to the Isle of White.
Enjoy the hustle and bustle of Lymington’s Saturday street market situated along the High Street, and take a walk through the cobbled streets of the Old Town.
You will find a lovely selection of luxury hotels, B & Bs and campsites in the area. We like New Park Manor Hotel where you can sip champagne in an outdoor hot tub watching deer graze close by. Late summer perfection!
